Bomboneras is a project that, through photographs, conveys a generation’s worth of love for Boca Juniors.

The iconic blue and gold jersey calls for sweat – for pride – on and off the pitch. For the supporters, it’s a symbol of their passion for the club, it’s colours and history emanating from their place of worship: La Bombonera.

All the women here are pictured wearing the same shirt; a historic Boca jersey that I’ve kept in a draw from age eight. A little torn with the colours fading, it remains a cherished relic and a symbol of days gone.

It was the combination of my love for photography and my passion for Boca that today brings that jersey back to life. Too big or small, short, too tight or loose, all the models wore it with pride.

The pictures were taken between 2015 and 2018 in both digital and analogue format.
