If you didn’t already know, Paddy Power are sponsoring the 2018 CONIFA World Football Cup in London this summer, so they went to get a first-hand perspective on what CONIFA means to the people who are part of it.
It was a journey of real contrast, from the chaotic ultra-modern streets of Japan to the spectacular, dense rainforests of Zimbabwe. Paddy spoke to presidents, saw hippos roaring on the Zambezi river, and ate in a robot café.
More importantly, they saw the impact CONIFA – and football – can have on marginalised and troubled communities.
